Woke up this morning
With only one thing on my mind
Just looking for that sign
I should have listened to that warning

But now I am left
Looking for a new way
To commit this theft
Listen to what I have to say

Because now I am gone
And so are you too
Like a baby swan
That in now feeling the blue

Hope is all that remains
And a promise to hold
Just like St. Thomas
I sure hope it is as good as gold

One day I know
That all this will be forgotten
And I will have everything to show
While saying good bye to the rotten

Until that day comes
Moving on I shall
Listening to those drums
And hanging with a new pal

With the hour glass sand
Time heals many breaks
Reforming the old band
And fixing all those aches

Once that time has arrived
I will be here waiting
Having survived
This long wait of your hating

Just know we all take different trails
And there is no reason
That we can't tell tales
Of a new season

One where all is right
One where we are friends
One where we do not fight
One that never ends

If we can make it through this
Then we can make it through all
And allow a new kiss
To put us into free fall

Or if nothing more
Form a news
Opening a new door
Just for a couple Jews
A poem by me :)
Hope y'all enjoy and as always """may not be used without my permission!"""

I usually have a problem with finding rhyming poetry that isn't elementary-sounding but this was lovely! It really flows beautifully and doesn't have the choppy or forced quality I detest.
